| Arc lamp spectrum for natural star colors |
| |
The majority of stars appear white. Accordingly, we need a light source without any yellowish, reddish or greenish tint. Arc lamps, already in widespread use, are best suited as they emit natural white light. The light intensity at the red and blue ends of their spectrum is high enough to allow filtering so as to generate natural star colors. Thanks to an innovative process, individual fibers can be dyed to achieve a desired spectral intensity distribution needed for presenting the brighter stars with their natural colors. | |
