Lightsheet workshop

Microscopy Course

Raster Image Correlation Spectroscopy

Raster Image Correlation Spectroscopy

Duration: 2 days, 9 am – 5:30 pm
Participants: min. 3, max. 4
Course Fee: 1020.00 EUR, for a three day course excl. tax
Course material and lunch are included
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge in light microscopy and fluorescence microscopy. Basic knowledge in Laser Scanning Microscopy is recommended.
General: Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) is a highly sensitive method that detects movement and binding of fluorescence-labelled particles on the single molecule level.

Furthermore concentrations of movable fluorescent particles can be esti-mated. Thus biochemical reactions can be monitored in real time solutions as well as within living cells.

We will provide the skills to acquire images from living cells for RICS and enable you to analyze RICS images based on simple fitting models.
Topics: - Theory of RICS
- The correlation image
- Image acquisition for RICS
- Fitting models for diffusion processes
- Data analysis for RICS
- Diffusion and correlation maps

All hands on will be exercised on LSM 7-generation systems (LSM 710, LSM 780) using the ZEISS ZEN software.
